Assignment 3-review

This is a review for my open class which is related to assignment 1's powtoon. I try to check students' previous learning in order to remind key expressions that they learned  just before starting that day's lesson.

assignment 1-How to make a book(project for 5th graders)

This is for my open class for the parents on June 19th. This is the main part of the lesson so I try to make my students concentrate how to make a book. I make a pause on a few slides to make them recognize how to do it and make it for a while and keep going to the next slide. I hope it works well and it's helpful to understand.^^

Story Board for my open class

I'm planing reading and writing class through a story which is related with the topic for my open class. The topic is 'Do you want some more?' The object is that students are able to read and write the expressions 'I like ....', 'Do you want some more?', 'Yes, please.' and 'No, thanks.' In order to achieve it I'm making the core lesson plan like this. First, Teacher tell a story without pictures. Students just listen to the story and do a listening activity with this worksheet to check how much students comprehend the story. Then, students read it together with pictures and check if they're right or not. After reading, students can make their own story using 'at my house' corner in the worksheet.Students can write their story and read it their individual story connecting to the original one. Students also should practice writing key expressions correctly through 'Broken sentences' activity. So they can catch their mistakes and fix them by themselves. I'm not sure how it works to the students.I'll try it and make up for unexpected mistakes.^^

English for Young Learners

https://feedly.com/#category%2Fyoung%20learners

This category is for young learners. There're some channels for pronunciation and grammar clinic that elementary school students may feel hard to acquire. I look for an appropriate video among those when students often encounter difficult pronunciations or mistakes and introduce it for their extending study when they want to learn more extensively.
I used the video 'How to say _ed endings in English', I prepared the worksheet and students answer it after watching the video. *Worksheet* Lesson 15. I watched TV yesterday. - Write the past tense and Read them 3 times. ① help ② watch ③ clean ④ play ⑤ study ⑥ yesterday

Real English-Interview(dream jobs)

This is the first video I made. Actually it's the third work since I tried...
It's an real interview about dream jobs. I think it's good to understand real English conversation and their speaking speed and intonations to young learners. Furthermore, students can understand between their dream job and the realistic job as well.
I showed it after learning about jobs(Lesson 13. What do you want to be?) to my grade 6 students. They really enjoyed it and surprised that there're so many people who has a  different job from their dream job, but they are happy and satisfied.^^

Suzanne Talhouk: Don't kill your language

It's not in English, it's in arabic but her message is significantly influential for non English speaking countries I think.

'Whose is it?"-Teach It's mine

It's very useful to teach possessive expressions. It's definitely difficult to young learners like my students. So it helps a lot to understand them easily. I usually teach it with songs or chant when it's a little hard one to my students.
